Out of 20 Veterans that I talked to 15 of them have been deployed, 4 have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder and 19 find it easier to talk to someone else who is in the military. Some of the reasons are because

  • they are understanding

  • same level of understanding

  • shared experiences

  • they have been there, and we have our own language

  • civilians just don't know

  • they can relate/have been through the same thing

  • related life experiences

"Seek help through the Vet programs, such as groups and one one-on-one counseling. You are not alone; others have walked the walk and talked the talk."

Vet Talk provides a unique service for veterans and service members to connect with each other. Through Vet Talk, veterans can schedule an appointment to speak with another veteran or service member in order to build a bond, connection, and friendship. Vet Talk is not a substitute for professional therapy, but rather an opportunity to connect with someone who understands the experiences of military life.
